SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- The owner of a Southern California martial arts studio suspected of molesting six children is in custody in Canada on a $750,000 arrest warrant issued in San Bernardino County.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Bachman says 30-year-old Umar Love was arrested early Saturday by Quebec City authorities. There are no details about the arrest.
The Apple Valley man was arrested on Dec. 14 after a 14-year-old girl reported she was molested by the owner of Evolved Martial Arts. Love was booked for investigation of lewd acts with a child and was released on $25,000 bail.
Bachman says detectives subsequently linked him to sexual assaults on five other teen girls and a $750,000 arrest warrant was issued.
Love and his girlfriend were gone when a search warrant was served at his home.
