TAMPA - Joe Ynocencio says he had given up on humanity.
?You don?t think people really care anymore,? Joe said.
Just days after Christmas, Joe and his family were returning home from lunch, and realized someone had broken in.
Burglars had stolen their television and stereo, as well as most of the Christmas presents Joe had bought for his 6-year-old daughter Mackenzie, his 4-year-old daughter Jolie and his 7-month-old daughter Alexis.
Joe and his wife, Michelle, were crushed.
On Friday, ABC Action News told their story. Within minutes of it airing, people began emailing, offering to help.
In all, around 35 families emailed, and more than half followed up with a phone call to Joe. By Monday, they had replaced everything the burglars had stolen and then some.
?They were just as happy to give those gifts as we were to receive them. For the love for my family, thank you so much. I?ll never forget you,? Joe said.
Joe, who served in the Marines and was once called a hero for pulling people from a burning house, also said his goal is to be in a position next Christmas to help other families.
Tampa Police have not been able to find the burglars yet.
